Black People: For Entertainment Purposes Only
W. Ivan Wright

Able Journey Press

What?-the purpose of black people is for America’s entertainment?

Allow this suspense thriller to introduce you to its main character, Jurney Swiftwood, an author, whose book has inflamed the African American community. All because his book infers that the sole function of blacks is for this country’s amusement.

A politically sanctioned murder plot only adds to Jurney’s dilemma as the blood soon ribbons its way from its newest victim -still seeking Jurney.

Adding to Jurney’s angst is the veiled tension that has developed between he and his lover, Selena Conway. When Jurney discovers that he is the father of a nine-year-old daughter, the veil is dropped and the two must come to a new maturity.

Seasoned characters and introspective dialogues are woven within the story that reconnect the reader to once-embraced values. Warm literary scenes give evidence to the awesome power of perception and how our elders understood this oft-hidden power.

Careful -when this book speaks of perception and the questions regarding America’s entertainment Rolodex, it is not primarily directed towards white America. Indeed, it is the perception via the lens of black America that profoundly dictates our social positioning and therefore, our children’s vision of life’s horizons.
