CHAPTER 28 She unlocked the kitchen door with her shinny silver house key on her pink princess key chain. All the lights in the house were off except the fifty watt light above the stove. She noticed AJ’s gym bag was on the floor and the trail of clothes he left on his way to bed. He must have done this on his way to the shower she thought and he forgot to pick them up. She assumed he was asleep due to the darkness of the house. She placed her purse on the island next to AJ’s keys sat her two shopping bags on the glass dinning room table in the breakfast nook and walked over to the laundry room and turned the washing machine on regular wash.
She poured a cup of Tide in the warm water and gathered up his clothes piece by piece. After she dumped the clothes in the washer she walked out of the kitchen, down the hall passing their guest room, to the master bedroom checking her hair in the floor length mirrors in the hallway placed three feet away from each other from one end of the hall to the next. She stepped on her tip toes trying to be as quiet as possible. Because, if AJ was asleep she did not want to wake him, she knew how grouchy he was when someone woke him up from his sleep after he had a hard day at work. Incidentally, the sounds of the headboard hitting the wall, danced their way in her ears. She bent down to pick up the red silk CK boxers that were right outside the bedroom door. She put her right hand on the brass handle and turned the knob to the right opening the door slowly.
“Um, baby that’s the spot, that’s the shit I’m talking about.”
“Oh you like that?” AJ asked, slapping Kristin on the butt cheek griping the other cheek with his right hand.
AJ’s boxers went crashing down in slow motion. Gisele gasped for breath like an asthma patient in need of a breathing treatment and there was not one available to wives whose husbands cheated on them. Her chest filled with polluted air, her pupils got small, and her body went numb all over. She stood in the doorway horrified. Right before her eyes, in full effect her husband was doggy styling some insidious, pernicious, Black Bitch in their house and on her great grandmother’s bed. She broke out in a cold sweat. She was dripping with perspiration from head to toe standing in a puddle of dew. She felt like time was standing still her body trembled with fear. She closed her eyes as tight as she could gluing her eyelids together praying when she opened them up AJ would be sleeping quietly in their bed. She asked, God “to please let it all be a figment of her imagination just the devil playing one of his sick, twisted, infantile jokes on her.” She rebuked the devil in the name of Jesus three times in her head and told him, “to get thee behind me.” Her heart pounded like thunder in the inner walls of her chest cavity, with each beat the thunder intensified and lightning struck. She thought she was going to die with her eyes wide open. There was no doubt this was the real thing when she moderately opened her brown eyes. |
