The Beggars’ Pursuit
Christian Filostrat
Africana Homestead Legacy Publishers
Ambassador Molu Sakeseba has done his best to protect Dictator Motutu’s
interests in Washington, DC. But Motutu’s role in Rwanda’s genocide and
regional conflicts fueled by illicit diamond trade has lost him his
Congressional supporters. When Marcellus Garinaldi tells Sakeseba that
the State Department has chosen Judd Mosley instead of Motutu’s choice
as the next U.S. ambassador to Kinshasa, he is sure his life is over.
Surprisingly, Motutu’s wrath is swiftly replaced by forgiveness and a
promotion for the ambassador to foreign minister. Despite warnings from
friends in the U.S. diplomatic corps and Senegal’s Foreign Minister, Fatou-Anne Cerusu, a naïve Sakeseba flies home via Abu Dhabi, mixing
Motutu’s business with a romantic tryst. Motutu and his ruthless
security chief, Maka Mgonu, intently await Sakeseba’s arrival in
Kinshasa. With his life and the lives of the people he loves in danger,
a wiser Sakeseba emerges to battle the evil he faces.
