Taking AIM!: 30-Year Anniversary Exhibition is sponsored by UBS. AIM's 30th Anniversary is generously supported by the MetLife Foundation Museum and Community Connections grant, Jerome Foundation, Helena Rubinstein Foundation, The Greenwall Foundation and the Milton & Sally Avery Arts Foundation.
June 26 through through January 1, 2012 This exhibition presents a group of fourteen oil on canvas and twelve works on paper by Emilio Sanchez in the Bronx Museum Permanent Collection. All the works depict commercial buildings in the Hunts Point area of the South Bronx. With a colorful palette and rigorous architectural design, these works depict the bodegas and auto shops of the Bronx in an almost idyllic style that makes a stark contrast with preconceived views of the borough. All works by Emilio Sanchez were donated to the Bronx Museum of the Arts Permanent Collection by the Emilio Sanchez Foundation
