GMan:
The Education of a Criminal
by Gregory Marshall
Marshall Publishing Group
“So this is what it feels like to die…
No amount of training in the streets could ever prepare me for
this moment. Gun smoke swirls, lingering inside the car like a
bad dream on a good day. The cool air whipping about the car
barely brushes against my heated skin. From the passenger seat,
I can barely make out any parts of the dark scenery that
stretches from the heart of Natchez to the murky waters of the
Mississippi River. I chose a less populated spot on a deserted
country road, believing it was the perfect place to conduct our
transaction. The likelihood of being spotted by the police or
anyone else was slim-to-none. Unfortunately, it also meant that
there would be no one who could save me.”
Gregory Marshall shares his journey from innocent child to
feared criminal, from the gang-ridden streets of South Central
Los Angeles to the dirt roads of Natchez, Mississippi. G-Man:
The Education of a Criminal is his own real-life story, the
story of a young, angry, fatherless child who rose to power as a
hustler and drug king-pin earning him several stints in
California’s most notorious prisons.
G-Man: The Education of a Criminal engages the reader on an
emotional roller coaster. Each step to his path of redemption
involves anger, despair, love, passion, fear, frustration, and
faith.
We see a glimpse of his family struggles, his relationship with
his street comrades, the women who helped shape him into a
friend, lover, and hustler. Greg’s education didn’t come from
school, it came from the streets.
Shot five times in a drug deal gone bad, Greg fought for his
life, dying three times on the operating table, earning him the
title of “miracle patient.” This was the turning point on his
road to redemption.
